Otsego County Skilled Nursing Facility, Cooperstown, New York

The Otsego County Skilled Nursing Facility, located in Cooperstown, was completed in 2004.

Blanding Electric was the primary electrical contractor for this multi-million dollar project. The large scope of work for this project included installing all power and lighting, data and phone cabling, nurse call, intercom & PA systems. The facility is a 141,000 square foot, 176- bed skilled nursing facility with living and support service areas. The 'podular designed' facility consists of 8 to 11 bedroom 'communities', which share kitchen, lounges and 'private' areas.

      

United Health Services Renal Dialysis, Binghamton, New York

United Health Services Hospitals is the only provider of dialysis services in the Broome County area. For nearly three decades, United Health Services has been providing this life-saving service. Now, UHS is upgrading and expanding its dialysis unit and services.

Designed by Chianis & Anderson Architects, the space for the Renal Dialysis Unit allows UHS to accommodate more patients with even greater services.

Selected by UHS as the primary electrical contractor, Blanding Electric's scope of work in this medical facility included: Complete installation of new power, power panels and circuitry Fire Alarm installation, Communications and Data cabling, Lighting

Vestal Dialysis, Vestal, New York

To add to the capacity offered through the United Health Services dialysis center at Binghamton General Hospital (above), Vestal Dialysis, a new state-ofthe- art center, opened in 2006. Affiliated with Lourdes Hospital, and operated by a national health firm called Liberty Dialysis, the center can service up to 300 patients.

Operating as the primary electrical contractor for this $3 million, 18,000 sq. ft. completely new medical building, Blanding Electric's scope of work in this medical facility included all new power, power distribution, panels, lighting, data, phone, fire alarm.

The Clemens Center ~ Elmira, New York

  
The Clemens Center in Elmira, NY brings world renown musicians, actors and dancers to the Southern Tier Area. In order to better accommodate its demand for performances, the center recognized its need for additional room. The result, pictured here, was a three story story attached structure with an elegant and modern appeal. The new structure features a new first floor box office and lounge area, second floor private meeting rooms and lounge area, and third floor administrative offices.

Working for construction manager Welliver McGuire, Blanding Electric was responsible for the complete electrical scope of work which included the installation of new power for the addition and electrical distribution throughout the building, installation of specialty lighting and dimming panels, fire alarm, security, and data networking.

In 2007, Blanding Electric was once again selected as the primary electrical contractor for the Clemens Center Phase 2 Stagehouse expansion. Working with construction manager Streeter Associates, construction of this multi-million dollar expansion/renovation is ongoing.

State University of New York at Cortland ~ Glass Tower Hall

Struggling with increasing demand for on-campus student housing at SUNY Cortland, DASNY initiated the construction of a new state-of-the-art residence hall. Working with construction manager LP Ciminelli, Blanding Electric was selected as the primary contractor for the electrical construction of the $12 million dormitory facility.

The new complex, named Glass Tower Hall, is the first new dormitory built at the college in 30 years. The 4-story residence hall, which houses 195 students, features a colored-glass tower housing student lounges.

The scope of work included all new power, power distribution, lighting, data, telecom, fiber optics, and fire alarm. The new dorm is also the first residence hall built within the State University of New York system that is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified, using "green building" design to lower energy costs. Construction on the project was completed in 9 months.

Regal Cinema ~ Binghamton, New York

When Hoyts Cinema (now Regal Cinema) decided to open a massive 12 theater complex on Upper Front Street in Binghamton, New York, Blanding Electric was selected as the primary electrical contractor.

The new construction of this multi-million dollar complex required an electrical contractor who could handle the extensive electrical work on this fast track project without sacrificing quality, service or safety. Blanding Electric completely wired the new building that included a 3-phase 480 volt 1600 amp service with multiple panels and transformers, specialty lighting throughout the building, and specialty wiring for each projection booth and concession area. In addition, Blanding Electric installed the data/telecom wiring, security system, including CCTV, and fire alarm system. Because of Blanding Electric's quality workmanship, value and size, this project was completed in a mere three months.

Financial Service Centers ~ Various Locations

The construction of new banking centers and credit unions is somewhat of a niche industry in itself due to intricate specifications for the electrical scope of work. Through the past few years, Blanding Electric has been involved with the new construction of several new financial centers including the Empower Credit Union in Johnson City, Tioga State Bank locations in Binghamton and Endwell and the First National Bank of Dryden in Cortland. In general, the scope of work for these projects included installation of all new power, distribution, panels, emergency generators, data, phone and security and lighting.

The Shoppes at Vestal ~ Vestal, New York

The Vestal Parkway in Vestal, New York has grown into the retail center of the Greater Binghamton Area. The exponential growth of this area continued with the addition of the Shoppes at Vestal, a new strip mall which houses high-end retail establishments including Coldwater Creek, Ann Taylor Loft, Chico's among others.

The new Shoppes at Vestal were to be housed in a vacant building. For the transformation of this vacant space into a viable retail strip mall, Blanding Electric was selected as the electrical contractor responsible for installing all new power, power panels, distribution, backup generator, and site lighting.

Binghamton City Hall Security Upgrades, Binghamton, NY

Blanding Electric completed a major security upgrade at Binghamton City Hall. This renovation included security doors, cameras and also computer upgrades. Pictured at left is the new security checkpoint at the main entrance of the City Hall building. This checkpoint includes a metal detector, baggage scanner and computer monitoring station for security cameras throughout the building.
